What is Visual Stress?

Also known Meares-Irlen® syndrome - is an information and sensory processing disorder where the brain has difficulty accurately interpreting visual information.

This can lead to difficulties with reading, concentration, and other visual tasks.
What is it not?

Visual Stress is not a vision problem that can be corrected with regular eyeglasses.

It is not dyslexia, though the two often co-occur.

It is not a medical condition.

It is not an issue with sight or vision.
Managing Visual Stress

Using coloured overlays or tinted lenses can sometimes reduce symptoms.

Adjusting screen settings (brightness, contrast, background colour) may help.

Take frequent breaks while reading or working visually.

TERMS OF BOOKING

Payment in advance - all screenings must be paid for in advance.

You can cancel up to two hours before the appointment without charge.

I am happy to rearrange a new appointment to suit you, or provide a full refund if the screening is no longer required, where notification was provided with the deadline.

Cancellations made after the two hour deadline will not be refunded, and milage charges may be applicable.
Advisories
• You should have an eye test with a qualified optician before your screening if you have not had one in the past 12 months – sometimes people just need new glasses!
• You should also consult your doctor first if you are experiencing physical symptoms such as nausea or persistent headaches/migraines

ReadEZ Clip-Ons are available in 12 colours (A–L) and two levels of saturation, giving a total of 24 options. They can be easily clipped onto your glasses whenever needed. Each colour has been carefully selected by a team of vision experts to provide the ideal balance of saturation (intensity) and transmittance (darkness), helping to reduce the symptoms of Meares-Irlen® Syndrome effectively.
